Sébastian Galley

 

Galley began his professional training as a gardener, while he was studying cornet under Laurent Carrel at the Fribourg Conservatory. In 2002 he was admitted to Geneva’s Upper Conservatory, where he studied under Gérard Metrailler and from which he received a diploma in 2006. In 2008 he received his soloist’s diploma with special mention and a prize from the Society of Friends and Former Students of the Conservatory. While he was still a student, he won, twice (2003 and 2006), the musical performance competition at Riddes and was named principal trumpet of the Camerata Schweiz. In 2007 he was engaged as second trumpet with the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana; since 2008 he has been principal trumpet there.
