Maxim Mogilevsky

 

Maxim Mogilevsky was the last pupil of Anaida Sumbatian. He debuted at the age of 13 with the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra under Dimitrij Kitaenko, and studied at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory under professor Lev Naumov. He won further studies at the Juilliard School with Bella Davidovich. Mr. Mogilevsky then obtained a master’s degree from Indiana University at South Bend, where he was a member of the world-famous Piano Studio of Alexander Toradze. He worked as Visiting Assistant professor at Oberlin Conservatory in Ohio; Currently Visiting Assistant of Piano at Eastman School. Winner of the 1989 International Music Competition of Japan, 1992 Unisa Piano Competition in Pretoria(SA) and the 1995 International Piano Competition of Oporto (Portugal). In addition to his performances with Valery Gergiev and the Kirov/Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, Maxim Mogilevsky has performed around the world. He has performed recitals at the Festival Île-de-France, Festival de Wallonie, Festival van Antwerpen, and Festival de Valencia in Europe, as well as the Sydney Festival, Yokohama Piano Festival in Japan, the Gilmore Keyboard and Ravinia Festivals in the U.S. In the summer of 2009 performed in Moscow with Russian National Symphony under Mikhail Pletnev, performed a recital at 2009 White Nights Festival at world-renowned newly built Mariinsky Concert Hall. Recently Maxim released a CD on a Decca/Nederlandse Radio of Stravinsky. With Rotterdam Philharmonic under Maestro Valery Gergiev.
