Daniel Abrams

Four Shakespeare Sonnets

Daniel Abrams is an internationally recognized pianist and composer whose compositions include works for chorus, orchestra, opera, chamber music, and solo piano. He has recently completed a series, Opera For Piano (variations and fantasies), some of which are receiving European and American premiers this season. The four sonnets, composed in 2002, to be presented are from a set of 12, all reflecting the moods and passions of the Shakespeare poems -- the "rhythms" and "harmonies" of the words expressed as musical phrases.
