Tempus fugit

Target: family
Version: Italian
Length: 103'
Year of production: 1997

"Tempus Fugit" tells the tale of Angelo, a pensioner who still has plenty of interests, an inquiring mind, and who loves nature. A creative man with a passion for poetry and music. However, one summer evening, on the mountain where he likes to pass the summer months, fate robs him of his wife's company. Unexpectedly, Angelo finds himself alone and obliged to turn to a nephew for assistance. The nephew is always too busy with work and family to take care of an elderly uncle. The film, written and directed by Bruno Soldini tells of the trials, joys and sadness of an old man who is alone, and at the mercy of those around him. Relatives friends and strangers generate a void, fuelled by impatience, but also by concern and good intentions. Angelo continues to retreat into his own world of memories. Then even his memory fades. Angelo is no longer self-sufficient. So begin the adventures of our hero in an ultra modern old people's home, fully equipped with every aid to provide a peaceful life for its guests. He is surrounded by nurses and psychologists who are always on hand. Yet Angelo refuses to give in to the passing of time, which is robbing him of his memories and of his past.
