As an alternative to Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, this is an exquisite homage by the videoartist Carlo Ippolito of the Wanderer, butterflies and fireflies, the Basle carnival and autumn mist in Milan. The cartoon unfolds to the softly shaded music of Hans Zehnder, John Cage and Conlon Nancarrow. Among these emerges solitary the symphonic music of the principal Swiss composer of the 20th century, Arthur Honegger.
