I Barocchisti

The ensemble I Barocchisti is internationally acclaimed today as a leading exponent of period instrument performance. Under the direction of Diego Fasolis, the ensemble presents itself in various formations ranging from 4 to 40 musicians, all renowned experts, with a strong cultural and instrumental competency. The orchestra, together with the Coro della Radiotelevisione Svizzera under the direction of Fasolis, has in recent years created several concert and record productions. I Barocchisti have performed at major music festivals across Europe and the United States. Consistently working with leading international soloists. Stabat Mater by Pergolesi (ERATO), recorded with Philippe Jaroussky and Julia Lezhneva, was presented on tour and won Best Recording of the Year at the International Classical Music Awards (ICMA 2014). An extraordinary collaboration with Cecilia Bartoli gave birth to "Mission" (DECCA), dedicated to the music of Agostino Steffani. It won the ECHO Music Award and received a Grammy nomination. Steffani's "Stabat Mater" and the instrumental album "Dances and Overtures" were included in the box set "The Steffani Project". The "St Petersburg" album and European tour followed in 2014. In 2015 they returned to the Whitsun and Salzburg Festivals with Bartoli in two major opera productions, Händel “Semele” and Gluck “Iphigénie en Tauride”. In 2016 I Barocchisti together with the Coro della Radiotelevisione Svizzera will be touring doing Norma with Cecilia Bartoli in the main role.
