Coro RSI e I Barocchisti, 30 settembre 2016 Concerto per le Settimane musicali Ascona

Coro della Radiotelevisione svizzera

The Choir of Swiss Radio and Television was formed in 1936 by Edwin Loehrer and ever since it has enjoyed great acclaim worldwide for its recordings of Italian music from 16 to 18 century. After being directed by Edwin Loehrer, Francis Travis, and André Ducret for many years, Diego Fasolis took over the direction of the choir in 1993, developing a busy programme of concerts and recordings. Furthermore, the choir has received numerous awards, including a Golden Disc, Grand Prix du Disque, Diapason d’Or, and a nomination for a Grammy Award. Claudio Abbado, René Clemencic, Ton Koopman, Robert King, Gustav Leonhardt, and Helmuth Rilling are some of the celebrated guest conductors who have praised the choir’s musical and technical prowess. Thanks to its flexible structure, with various formations, the choir was selected by Cecilia Bartoli for a new adaptation of Bellini's Norma, successfully performed at the Salzburg Festival in 2013 and 2015. The production will also be on tour through Europe in 2016.
