This is the story of a photographer and filmaker who 50 years later comes back to Siberut island, 90 miles west of Sumatra.
It was July 1969 when the director, then 24-year-old fashion photographer landed on one of the most mysterious and lesser-known places on Earth. That extraordinary experience, in contact with an almost completely untouched indigenous population, would also mark the beginning of his activity as a documentary filmmaker.
In July 2019, after half a century of travel and work, at the end of a career that took him to the most remote corners of the world, a question continues to haunt him like a ghost of the past: what will have become of that small island, Siberut, and the "flower men" who lived there?
This documentary is an attempt to find an answer but, above all, the adventurous tale of an exciting return and the existential balance sheet of an entire life.
