“BSI is in serious breach of the statutory provisions concerning money laundering.” It was 24 May 2016. With this damning and emphatic verdict, Switzerland’s financial regulator decided to shut down Ticino’s oldest and biggest bank. This documentary reconstructs one of history’s greatest financial scandals, an incident which spanned several countries and starred a series of unlikely characters: the Prime Minister of an Asian country, the greed of many different people, even prominent Hollywood actors, with top executives at BSI accused of being involved in the whole extravagant affair. It turned out to be a poisoned banquet because, in the end, it was precisely this great scandal that brought about their demise.
