Righting the wrong

Mons. Oscar Arnulfo Romero will be declared saint this year. The announcement is an act of “reparation” by Pope Francis towards the archbishop of San Salvador, assassinated on March 24, 1980 by death squads while celebrating mass. The documentary traces the life of Romero until the day of his sacrifice, as well as the tormented process of his canonization that divided the ecclesiastical institutions, pope after pope, up to the appointment of the first Latin American pope. The canonization is a historic event for Latin America and the whole world for a universal figure that goes beyond the boundaries of believers and non-believers.
