The people’s bridge

The life of Toni Rüttimann seems like something out of a film: too generous, too good and too honest to be true. Like Saint Francis, he decided he would own nothing except the clothes he was wearing and a laptop. He used the computer to build bridges, and he has built more than 300 of them. He has built them in poor countries, mainly in South America and Asia. He builds them without spending a cent, with help from local communities.
